What's new this week

This section summarizes what was released this week.

Fast lane GA features

These features are generally available for all customers. Slow lane customers and tenants will have these features automatically enabled on November 18, 2026.

  • ai-sre: General and Investigation mode runs (including alert-triggered investigations) can now take up to 50 steps instead of 25. Lets the agent finish deeper root-cause investigations instead of stopping early.
  • ai-sre: The question panel now slides up from under the chat composer instead of replacing it, in both the full-page chat and the side rail. The composer stays live with mentions, agent mode and model pickers, and any draft, so users can answer or skip a question without losing what they were typing.
  • dashboards: Dashboards can now be exported as PDF. Lets teams share a point-in-time snapshot of a dashboard with people outside Observe or attach it to reports and incident reviews.
  • service-explorer: The service inspector header has an Investigate service button that opens AI-SRE and starts an investigation of that service. Removes the step of opening AI-SRE and describing the service by hand when triaging from the service map.

Slow lane GA features

These features are enabled for all slow lane customers and tenants today. Fast-lane GA was 2026-09-23.

  • opal: OPAL inline editor completions are routed through Snowflake Cortex.
  • ai-sre: The AI credit governor enforces per-user and per-tenant AI credit limits across AI entry points.
  • ingest tokens: The public REST API for ingest tokens (/v1/ingest/tokens) provides full programmatic lifecycle management.
  • monitors: The monitor list and stats REST APIs (GET /v1/monitors with the {monitors, meta} envelope, and GET /v1/monitors/stats) are available. Fast-lane GA was 2026-09-24.
  • design-system: The Stellar UI refresh (Snowflake-themed colors, redesigned toast notifications and empty states) is enabled. Fast-lane GA was 2026-09-30.

Public preview and private preview features

features are available by invitation only. features are available by inquiry.

  • ai-sre: Four AI-SRE service health skills are available for selected customers: investigate an error or exception, summarize top errors and exceptions, assess deploy health, and investigate service latency. Each skill is enabled independently.

Bug fixes

The following issues are fixed in this week's release:

  • ai-sre: Artifact expand controls are hidden in the side rail, where expanding is not supported. (OB-64670)
  • ai-sre: Typed answers to agent questions are no longer marked as custom answers.
  • ai-sre: The AI side rail stays opaque over page content.
  • alerts: Alert list and detail responses now enforce AI chat view permissions, hiding investigation content the caller is not allowed to view.
  • charts: Navigating away from a chart now cancels its running query.
  • dashboard: The filter gear is aligned with the filter bar. (OB-68976)
  • design-system: Neutral toasts stay neutral under the Stellar theme. (OB-64425)
  • promql: A bare promql_at now resolves to the last instant of the query window.
  • search: Search filters escape backslashes and group secondary fields correctly, so searches containing \ return the expected results. (OB-63804)
  • service-explorer: Service Explorer asks before navigating into a downstream service.
  • trace-inspector: AI in the trace inspector now receives the same spans the scope toggle shows.
