OpenTelemetry App¶
The primary role that the OpenTelemetry app plays is in making raw OTel span data more useful for use cases such as trace search and service monitoring.
Install the OpenTelemetry Collector in Kubernetes¶
Follow the instructions to install the OpenTelemetry Collector in your Kubernetes environment. Once the OpenTelemetry Collector is up and running, you can configure your application to send telemetry data to the OpenTelemetry Collector using one of the following address:
OTLP/HTTP endpoint: http://observe-traces.observe.svc.cluster.local:4318
OTLP/grpc endpoint: http://observe-traces.observe.svc.cluster.local:4317
How the OpenTelemetry app makes your trace data available for use in Observe¶
