Monitor business applications

The Service Map in Observe enables teams to monitor business applications by logically grouping services, such as by team or business service, and visualizing their interactions with other groups. This provides a focused view of the flow of calls within and across namespaces, similar to the Application Flow Map in AppDynamics.

Observe leverages the OpenTelemetry service.namespace resource attribute as a way to logically group microservices. By ensuring this attribute is properly set in your span data, teams can better understand their business service architecture and interactions, facilitating reliable operation of business-critical applications.
