As an administrator, you can use the UI to configure local authentication to enforce policies for your organization.

For security teams, this feature allows configuring policies such as:

• Completely disable local authentication to enforce strict SAML-based authentication.
• Enforce password policies for local authentication.
• Control whether Observe by Snowflake support can log into your account.

Access your local authentication settings

Perform the following steps to access your local authentication settings:

1. Hover on your name in the left navigation, then select Manage account.
2. Click Customer settings.

Click Local authentication to expand the section.

Disable local authentication

In the Local authentication header, slide the toggle to the off position to fully disable local authentication.

Login settings

Configure the following login settings for your account:

• Enable Allow login autocomplete if you want your browser to autocomplete fields on the login page.
• Enable Allow support login to enable Observe by Snowflake support to log into your account using service account. See Manage service accounts.

Password settings

Configure password policies for your account:

• Minimum characters: The minimum length for passwords
• Password expiry: How often the passwords must be rotated
• Require special characters: Require special characters for more secure passwords
