We're happy to introduce our revamped documentation site, with an updated look and feel and some restructured content. Observe's API documentation, formerly at developer.observeinc.com, is now also available on the new docs website on the Developer Docs tab.

Span links are added to span details so that you can correlate and link spans that might not be part of the same trace but could be related in some other ways. See Examine trace details.
New featuresIn the left navigation rail, you can set the user interface to light mode, dark mode, or select Auto to have your user interface follow your system's light and dark mode settings. See Select light and dark mode settings.

The save modal for saving Datasets now provides edit-forward functionality. When it's possible to do so, the Save without re-materializing option is active in the save modal, so you can save your Dataset at no cost.
New featuresThis release introduces scheduled monitors, so that you can bring your existing scheduled alerting patterns with minimal friction, accelerating migrations from other platforms and services.
Typical use cases it unlocks:
- Any process runing on a fixed schedule, such as batch or ETL jobs, can now be monitored on that same schedule.
- Nightly backups across multiple databases and clusters.
- End-of-day financial and compliance jobs (statements and settlements).

- Improved Password Policy for Backend (OB-30043): Added checks for uppercase, lowercase, and numeric characters to align password creation flows with frontend standards. This applies to both admin and regular user flows, ensuring a consistent experience.
- Monitors Title & Message Fields (OB-42437): Added new monitor-level inputs and mustache variables to make monitor action messages more modular and easy to use.
- Dashboard Parameter Copy Functionality (OB-38547): Introduced functionality to allow easy copying of parameter values from dashboards.
- Axis Configuration for Charts (OB-41694): Introduced the ability to set units on the x-axis for charts, improving data interpretation and presentation.
- RBAC Default Permissions UI Bug Fix (OB-42191): Resolved issue where the ‘Viewer’ role did not appear in the selectable dropdown for default group permissions, enabling more granular permission assignments.
